Voter Rescue Mission

Los Angeles doesn’t change unless people show up.
The Voter Rescue Mission is a citywide volunteer effort to help increase voter participation, connect with neighbors, and make sure ballots actually get turned in.

We’re organizing teams across Los Angeles to:

  • Remind voters about deadlines
  • Help people understand where and how to vote
  • Encourage friends, family, and neighbors to participate
  • Coordinate ballot collection in accordance with California law
  • Build community energy around local elections

This isn’t about politics as usual. It’s about participation.

Join the Mission

We’ll be announcing volunteer meet-up locations, neighborhood teams, canvassing days, and ballot collection events across Los Angeles.

Whether you can help for one hour or one weekend, there’s a place for you in The Pratt Pack.

How the Voter Rescue Mission Works

Step 1 — Connect With Voters

Volunteers help remind people to vote, answer basic election questions, and encourage civic participation.

Step 2 — Help With Ballot Drop-Off

Under California law, voters may authorize another person to return their completed ballot for them.

That means trusted volunteers can help collect and return sealed ballots to official drop boxes or voting centers.

Step 3 — Increase Turnout

The goal is simple:
More participation. More voices heard. More people involved in shaping the future of Los Angeles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. California allows voters to authorize another person to return their completed mail ballot on their behalf, as long as election rules are followed.

What is “ballot harvesting”?

Some people call it ballot harvesting. We call it the Voter Rescue Mission because the focus is encouraging participation and helping people actually submit their ballots.

Can volunteers tell people how to vote?

No. Volunteers are there to encourage participation and help with logistics — not pressure or coerce voters.

Can I volunteer if I’ve never done political work before?

Absolutely. Most people involved are everyday Angelenos who simply want to help improve Los Angeles and increase civic participation.

How do ballots stay secure?

Ballots remain sealed and are delivered to official election drop boxes or voting centers in accordance with California election rules.

Where will volunteer meet-ups happen?

Locations will be announced regularly across Los Angeles County through Pratt Pack updates, Instagram, and the website.
